Do You Love Give-aways??

My friend Kai is having a give-away!!  She went to an awesome book signing, her first, and had so much fun she decided to share it with us!  The book signing event was with Flat K, for author Ree Drummond, of The Pioneer Woman fame.

Please hop over to Kai's blog and leave a comment and answer her special question...it's fun and you'll have a chance to win an awesome copy of Ree Drummond's book, "The Pioneer Woman"!

Thanks for stopping by and have a super great day!!

Kai's Give-Away opportunity closes at midnight on March 3rd....Good luck!!

Casting Cares - Challenge 2 from SFTIO

This is my latest scrapbook layout.  I created it with a challenge in mind from Scrapbooking From the Inside Out.  Our challenge was to scrap a layout with this in mind:

On the Edge: What feels precarious about your future? Does the transient nature of life frighten you, or are you at peace with it? Are there specific areas where you feel that instability more heavily - in your intimate relationships or your work? How do you manage uncertainty or fragility? Are you able to experience life with fluidity, or do you attempt to control the outcome of certain things?

As I began to scrap the page, I realized that along with the many worries and uncertainties I carry,  I have learned how to cope with them, with the help of this scripture verse.  I wanted to share that as well.  Too often, we share our worries and concerns and forget to share how we have managed to cope with them...below you'll find my "goto" verse.

Center stage...

Thank you for taking the time to look and share your thoughts!

Blessings to you!

Reflection

I was asked to review my strengths and weaknesses and to assess what they were.  I have so many vulnerabilities...I feel it so often in my life...so I decided to share the "go-to" verse when I need to remember that I am not in control, but I know the One who is.  This layout is a reflection of that and a reminder to focus on the "good" things...the blessings...

Thank you for looking!

God bless!!

Creative Scrappers Contest - Sketch #141

This is my first contest or challenge of any kind in the Scrapbooking arena.  To be open, I didn't even know there were any.  Then, as I was searching for ideas and other Scrapbooking sites; I stumbled upon Creative Scrappers.  Besides having some wonderful, fun ideas; the site and creative people behind it, offer some fun contests using their DT (Design Team) sketches.

I chose Sketch 141 for my layout.  I'm not sure if I'm even entering the contest right, but it looks like you create your layout, blog it, then link to it.

Below is Sketch 141:

The following is my attempt at making this happen...I love the colors, the photo of my Great Nephew, age 7, and I'm extremely happy with the products I used.  Most of which was purchased via Scrapbook.com.

Here's the layout:

I'm having so much fun with this!!  If you have any questions or would like any help....please feel free to let me know.  It would be my pleasure to help!

Warmth and blessings,
Colleen

Valentines...

I was just finishing up some Valentine's for my Grand-Daughters and I thought I would share them with you.  It's a first attempt, so I know I have much to learn.  With that said, I had so much fun doing them this year.

The Cupid Bears are not my designs...I procured them from http://digiscrapkits.com and Whimsy Primsy.  This is a wonderful site where you can purchase and utilize the images as long as you give "credit where credit is due" and frankly, I think that's a tremendous deal!!

Here are the Valentines:

I think they turned out pretty cute...I just hope the girls like them :)

Thanks for taking a look!  Have a blessed evening!

Warmth and blessings,
Colleen

Scrapbooking Kit Clubs...

Well, I spent a little time hunting for Scrapbooking Kit Clubs this last week.  Thankfully there are a lot of resources out there if you Google the topic.  There's an incredibly wide variety of offerings at varying price points.  It doesn't take long before you discover that there are quite a few that have gone out of business.  The really good ones are still ticking along and offer kits for about $40 to $45 excluding the shipping.

I ended up selecting one to try for a few months and I'm looking forward to getting my first kit.  When it arrives I'll post what was in it and what I thought about the quality, substance, and variety in the kit.  It's going to be fun...with this particular club, you have contests and challenges that encourage you to think about "you" and scrap emotionally...This is going to take a little thinking and introspection, but I think it will be good for me.  We'll see .... I'll let you know!

As you can see I'm slowly putting this blog together and would love to link to you if you love crafting, scrapbooking, and card-making!

We'll chat aging soon!

Blessings,
Colleen
